Traffic Collisions(Serious/Fatal) Checklist: Provide medical aid / ensure vehicles are safe (fire/lanes of traffic/etc.) Secure accident scene Immediately take pictures of scene prior to Fire’s arrival (if possible) Escort fire into scene if possible Notify Traffic Identify parties and witnesses Obtain statements from all parties and witnesses Maintain a visual of suspect (DUI/Hit and Run) Obtain driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance for all involved parties Mark the location of all vehicles with chalk/spray paint (Don’t move vehicles if possible) Mark the location of body with chalk/spray paint (Head/Feet) Identify all debris at scene (do not move) Locate cameras in the area and document location If possible review video footage and collect footage If the driver fled the scene, look for items to identify the driver and attempt to locate Send a unit with the injured to the Hospital to obtain a MRN # When feasible, obtain the status of the patient Collect suspect/victim clothing when feasible Be cautious of DNA contamination if TC is a hit and run (air bags/door handles/windows) Check for DUI, call DRE, Blood draw with Vital Obtain voluntary blood draw if under the impairment is in question Event NotesWould You Like to Email Yourself This Report?(Required) Yes No Email Address
